Discussion: the "hard-hitting" inauguration ad
Dec 10 2008, 10:31 AM EST
This is a more substantive ad that we'll be running around the country in the months following the inauguration, focused on changing minds. (More about the Inauguration ads at http://get-fisa-right.wetpaint.com/page/Inauguration+ad )Some of the ideas that have been suggested so far: * a conversation on the phone being wiretapped and the government misunderstanding. this helps deal with the reaction so many people have: "I don't have anything to hide!" * possibly relate to Ft Dix terrorism trial [link and discussion on the main page] * a 'rightsometer' showing where we are, where we were 8 years ago and where we should be [our goal] * tie to Obama's own experience "In the office, bumbling Verizon employees, like creatures in a Harry Potter movie, are prying through the files, showing each other O's calling records, making snide comments about "O's ohs!", etc." Thoughts on these? New ideas? Detailed suggestions for text and visuals? Do you find this valuable? |

I'm having trouble sorting out the light vs. hard-hitting ads. I left feedback on the inauguration ad on that thread; I will look for details on this ad and then post more substantial comments. I liked the "gravestone ad" that I watched on this site a few days ago; is that the ad to which this thread refers? I also like the idea, which I saw on another thread, of using the constitution parchment image as a constant in our communications. I like the idea the misunderstood conversation: it spotlights a problem to which everyone can relate.Sally Do you find this valuable? |
