Jon, I suggest we integrate with ACLU/EFF efforts. GetFisa worked for the time and period for which it needed to. Now there are broader and more focused groups that seem to be making headway.Trying to get this group going again doesn't seem to be happening! There are just way to many options that are leaving us divided which includes the change.org and change.gov sites. United we stand or divided we fall..... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I certainly agree about coordinating with ACLU/EFF, but there are plenty of options other than integrating ... let's not jump to any conclusions. There are things we do better than they do -- and some things that are impossible for them to do, due to organizational and legal restrictions.As for getting the group going again, it's still early days. Well its 12/3 and the Holidays are just around the corner thus I don't see a lot of real time for folks to participate and come up with something significant for inauguration on 1/20. Just being real, not pessimist by any means.

What is the time frame for the Change.org guest post? I need to do some research to contribute to it meaningfully, but it's definitely a great opportunity and think we should jump on it.

Patrick, you bring up a good point about doing research ... I edited the page to include links out to what I see as key background reading for this: recommendations from EFF, ACLU,and others (including PCC/BORDC in the Liberty and Security coalition), our most recent communication with Obama, a survey of the current landscape.
