revisions welcome, details like ad costs needed

Have at it. The interior paragraph is cribbed from the press release. Embedding the YouTube ad may or may not be a good idea, cut it if you like. Need a link to the ad of course, hope Jon or Aviva will pick the right one for Minneapolis/GOP target. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

it might make sense to simplify the options for participation ...

#1 and #2 as they are

combine #3 and #4 to "split the cost of an add with others", and direct people to a thread on the getfisaright.net board which gives the two options ("work it out here, or set up your own fundable.com account")

ad costs for St. Paul are at http://get-fisa-right.wetpaint.com/page/Ad+prices+for+targeted+cities

There's got to be some way to simplify this. Too many options.

Maybe :

Donate to a "fundable.com" LINK account set up by GetFISARight.net. (Or, if you like, set up a fundable.com LINK shared pledge account ($200 minimum total pledges, 10% transaction fee), and solicit pledges from your friends and family. A list of pledges is on the discussion board LINK.)

see revision. (join with others vs. do it yourself) is this OK now?

(It wouldn't be a list of pledges, it would be a list of people-seeking-pledges on the discussion list. Tried to fold that together with the "fs and family" phrase)

"OK. Corrected a couple of typos. Done?"
Sorry if I'm coming across badly. I thought we were trying to have something to get out the door tonight. It's 3AM EST now, I'm going to hang it up for tonight. This seems like a good, much improved by all input so far. I was trying to keep in mind that people might just want to give $15 or $20; I imagine they'll figure out how they might be able to do so.

The permalink to the "Donate to a fundable.com account" should maybe *not* go straight to the fundable.com account, but to a wiki page linking to that account. When that mini pledge drive "fills up", we make or select a new one some one else has made, and swap permalinks on the wiki page. Allow me to demonstrate....

yeah we were trying to get it out last night but it didn't happen ... ah well ... better to get it right.

agreed that linking to an intermediate page, allowing updates, would be very useful

Not familiar enough with wiki restrictions here; obviously, I log in, but I forget how easy or hard it was to get a username/password for this wetpaint site. If it's easy, then one might argue that page shouldn't be a wiki page, but instead on the "hard web site". Otherwise mischief makers could vandalize/redirect it. Thoughts?

Other than that, I hope this is OK to post hither and yon. Don't know how formal the process gets at this point.
Let me know, and I'll post it on the sites I'm able to post to, and contact the people I mentioned yesterday.

The process isn't formal at all. We've just been finishing up the press release editing.

Probably the best thing to do is just point to the ad page on the main site. I'll edit accordingly.

Those are very generic instructions for setting up the ad at the main site.
If you want people to focus on the GOP convention, you should give them the zip code for the convention area: 55102

I don't know when this crept in, but why talk about how much it costs to get something on *all* major channels? Why not just pick the lowest for each time slot? Otherwise people think $103 really is the minimum, when it's not.

Forget it, sorry. I suppose there's a $100 minimum buy anyway. It's just people will see the lower individual prices (at least, last time I looked).

Is this now ready to go in your opinions?

Yep, I think it's ready to go -- not to mention being really good. (Stole some of this for the website, btw).

Thank you!
