He has abandoned US (us)

Senator Obama abandoned his original position on FISA. Just before the Wisconsin primary Senator Obama said the following concerning FISA: "I am proud to stand with Senator Dodd, Senator Feingold and a grassroots movement of Americans who are refusing to let President Bush put protections for special interests ahead of our security and our liberty." By voting 'YEA" on the FISA bill on June 9th he has ignored his most ardent supporters pleas to do the opposite. This change to the right has made it very difficult for me. I am going to find it difficult to vote for Mr. Obama in November if this is what we are to expect from him in the future. I cannot understand how he could vote in favor of this pattern of abuse against civil liberties and the rule of law by this Administration. I can only hope that Senator Obama can redeem himself somehow or that a viable third party candidate comes along who understands the meaning of the Constitution and will stand by it. By the way, Senator Hillary Clinton stood up and voted against FISA. I'm afraid the Democrats got it wrong again.

I am disappointed in Obama's vote too, but he will get my vote. There is no such thing as a "viable" third party candidate at this point in our country. I believe Obama voted the way he did to support down ticket blue dog Democrats. Our job is to get them out of office by supporting progressive challengers. I suspect Clinton would have voted the way Obama did if she were in his shoes. As it was, she had nothing to lose and repositioned herself in the Senate (possibly to separate from the blue dogs or to make a run for POTUS in 2012). I'm interested in getting the flawed FISA Amendment overturned or fixed. That will probably happen in the courts and through pressure from groups like Get FISA Right, the ACLU, and Strange Bedfellows et al. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I understand your position and agree to some extent. But, when Democrates were given a majority in both houses the American people were trying to send a message. So far I think our representitives have failed to deliver and I'll be surprised if there is a large voter turnout this November. Obama's messgae is vapor and McCain is just not getting it at all. See http://www.presstv.ir/Detail.aspx?id=67850&sectionid=3510203

Ron Paul states the following and I agree (reluctantly)

""Their foreign policies are identical," the Texas congressman said in an interview with CNN on Thursday. "There's no difference."

"They want more troops in Afghanistan. They want to send more support to Georgia to protect the oil line there. Neither one says bring home the troops from Iraq from the bases -- you know the bases are going to stay there, the embassy as big as the Vatican, that's going to remain. So their foreign policies are exactly the same," he added.

The former Republican presidential candidate said that the two candidates are both threats to the US national interests.

"We create the threats! Why are we on the borders of Russia provoking the Russians? I mean, the Georgians initiated the military attack against these enclaves where there were mostly Russians... It's a fact that we're over there that we create these crises."

I really was sick after he flipped on FISA. I heard he had promised to filibuster, but he voted for cloture instead. (failure to uphold the 4th amendment) . I was sick when I heard he wanted to expand the Faith Based Initiative (failure to uphold the 1st amendment). And he recently objected to the Supreme Court decision to outlaw death for child rapists (arguing against the 8th amendment).

What will the constitution look like under Obama?!!!

This group HAS TO abandon Obama at some point! The "Chosen One" has forsaken us. I gave himn $263 before his flips and flops and now I don't even know if I can vote for him.

Thank you Mr. or Ms. Anonymous.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I must admit that as a long time liberal Independant I was quite taken by Mr. Pauls position. Obama has abandoned his most ardent supporters and has become (if he wasn't in the first place) a flunky of the aristocracy.
Until the uneducated masses of this country learn what is truly going on in this goverment, be it Democrat or Republican, I fear we are destined to continue down the road to ruin.
