Impeachment"Should we ask for impeachment? Clashes with the "future not past""
As a long time impeachment advocate, I'll surprise even myself by saying I don't think it belongs in this ad. I do disagree that it clashes with "future not past" -- wherever that imperative came from; impeachment of some of the principals involved -- Yoo, Addington, and Hayden almost more than Cheney or Bush -- would be a very good thing going forward in that it would create a strong disincentive for doing these kinds of things (lawless surveillance; advocating torture under color of law) ever again.
But we're talking here about our first ad out of the starting block in the Obama administration, and ads can't carry the freight of more than one message. I think that message should be "Get FISA Right. Now"
