Historical statistics: number of members on myBO

For our first week, this was the most important number to track. The growth was consistenly over 40%/day, sometimes over 100%/day, until July 3, when the combination of the holiday weekend and email listserv problems slowed it substantially. We resumed growing by 1,000-2,000 people per day after the long weekend. Somewhere around1,000 and 2,000 members left the group on Wednesday, July 9, during and after the FISA vote.

Legislative situation
legislatively, nothing on either hte house or senate calendar. Every day not there is another % surer we will get an extension.

Mark: last extension in similar circumstnace ran one only about a month.

Pelosi outreach
Pelosi went out here early this afternoon. Has to be forwarded to her through her pseaking agent, may take a little while. Here's the situation, wer're looking short term for 5 min. video, 20 second commercial, longer term we think it's worth a documentary.

harry: with Pelosi, if we do get tot he point where it's a pitch for a documentary,

for GFR in general, as we expand our distribution networks invideo tha's soething that could becoe really powerful -- blogs, other media outlets

pitch just telling who we are and what we are thinking, provide links to the web pages. Ask is there is a story here, let's talk about it.

Mark: assumption is the thing will get forarded to her. Go trhough her video agent who I don't know, and hse'll take a look at ***, pencil a couple of comments, and some deputy assistnat agent will get back to us.

Individual stories
Mark: two emails from woman on OFA email with horrible Patriot exeprience. Told it was people in armed forces were highly suspected terrorists. Another form a alwyer in LA with 5 type written apges of stuff he expects is patriot related. Horrible experince of people comign in, mesing with computers, etc.

Holidays plans
Korkie: Give htem time to rest, refocus.

Jon: message to send out, wrap up for the year, here is what we're doing next year, thanks for hte effort, have a gerat holiday season

Korkie: prepare for short postponement, to keep epople on their toes, ready to go out.. Which is what rapid response does anyways.
