Watch
David Plouffe's blast email to Obama supporters: "On December 13th and 14th, supporters are coming together in every part of the country to reflect on what we've accomplished and plan the future of this movement. Your ideas and feedback will be collected and used to guide this movement in the months and years ahead."
Should we try to influence this? We could take the same approach we did for July's platform meetings: provide collateral and talking points, and then ask members to share their experienes on their blogs or in comments. (See the reports here.)
Is anybody planning on going to these meetings?
Is anybody interested in helping drive the development of the collateral?

RE: Influence "Change is coming" meetings?

I did go to a Change Is Coming meeting, of Obama Grassroots BergenCounty (OGBC, New Jersey); FISA as such did not come up, but the idea of our group as an "Obama watchdog" did. Our mission statement is to "motivate political activists to influence, support, and/or challenge" the Obama administration and politicians at other levels. We are going to be organizing as a group of groups: "mini think pods" on individual areas of passion. Right now we are more concentrating on making the transition from our physical campaign office to a virtual network with occasional physical meetings than carving out particular issues, although universal health care and recycling/environmental issues have been mentioned as two initial concerns.
