Please post all your concerns Ideas suggestions bills legislation initiatives you would like this group to consider.
We are a block of concerned people and a group has the force of a small petition. We could rally support for our grass roots needs.
Please post your comments too.

We can even use this as a general discussion form as we brain storm how best to utilize our Get Fisa Right group.
Perhaps we could have an ALERT page which people could subscribe to. Than everyone could post hot issues about to go for vote and people could choose which ones they send on to Reps. It would be nice if we could have a LIVE page people could hit and a petition would be sent to Reps. We need volunteers who are web savvy and could add ppl and additions to our website, new tools etc.

US financial system needs to be discontinued and a US Bank run by Congress should be the keeper of US currency.
Unemployed underemployed need support to maintain necessary personal items, food, shelter, health care.
US must stop WarRing
Israel must comply with rules of democracy, human rights, stop interfering with Gaza trade across borders,

I like the idea of an alert page. I think we should keep to a pretty narrow focus in terms of issues, so that we can be regarded as "experts" on Constitutional matters, and perhaps endorse other organizations for other issues on which we agree.
Some issues I consider best for us:
no torture
no (formerly?) illegal wiretapping
just what is the NSA's legal role
the use of "executive privilege" to overstep constitutional checks and balances
the declaration of a state of war to expand executive branch powers
what information on what citizens is the government collecting, and should they be allowed by their employers, the citizens themselves, to do so
Pres. Obama said that we need not sacrifice safety for our ideals. Yet he is supporting Bush's position on wiretaps by defending the telecom immunity lawsuit (link to article in Get-FISA-Right daily mailing). How can we stop him from trying to have it both ways?

Yes, and your issues are good start. The FISA Right is main because it is one of the key Constitutional violations. The Original FISA statue seems good to me and I support restoring it. Perhaps that needs to be addressed specifically. Other matters need to be specific also so a BILL can be drawn of them. Perhaps we can devise a draft bill on these items.

This is a great idea. One of the things we can do is set up an alert page and let people subscribe to it by email. That way as long as a couple of us are tracking the issues we'll all know....

Would you please set this up Jon? I think it would help us connect. Bruce

We need this Alert Page linked on our Home page on the left so all can participate and view hot items.

Who will do this?

I would be glad to set up an alert page if I knew how. . . if it is easier to point me in the right direction or give me instructions as to how to set it up. will someone please do so?
Also, did you know that new passport/travel rules are going into effect in June? They seem more restrictive than in the old days, especially out of the western hemisphere, but the only specific I could find on the DHS & CBP Web sites was cost; perhaps the application form I downloaded will have more . . . Cost is $100, couldn't even find duration. . . .

i do not know this wet paint software, so can not tell you how. Thanks for the info on the passport/travel rules. We have much to be aware of and question these changes. We soon will have no Liberty at all if we do not fight for it. Do you have a URL of the passport website? This should be an added issue to our constitutional alert page.
Does anyone know this wet paint software?

I found the info, not up to snuff on it. It may be that the person who started this group must add pages, I am not sure. Please look here:

Fusion Centers collect and share information with local, state and federal law enforcement, and increasingly, with the military and the private sector. Although information sharing is legitimate and often necessary for law enforcement, the Fusion Centers are operating with little oversight at a time when new technology, government powers and zeal in the "war on terrorism" are combining to threaten our privacy at an unprecedented level and turn America into a surveillance society.
