Draft email to Sen FeingoldThis is a featured page

See GFR heart Sen. Feingold for context. Also being discussed in email.

Honorable Senator Feingold,

Thank you for your leadership in defending the Constitution and rule of law on domestic spying and so many other issues.

"Get FISA Right" started in July of 2008, when a group of some 23,000 people representing all sectors of the population rallied to get Senator Obama to oppose the FISA Amendment Act. We continue to work actively today to get the new Obama administration and Congress to revise FISA and the PATRIOT Act to protect our constitutional rights and restore the rule of law.

We're very interested in hearing your views on the political situation for domestic spying in Congress and your strategy for 2009. This group offers our support to you, in any way we can, as you go forward in getting FISA right.

Sincerely,

The members of Get FISA Right

I think "Dear Senator Feingold" might suffice for the salutation. (I think that's the proper etiquette.) It might also be good to be more specific the first time FISA is mentioned, i.e., "The FISA Amendments Act." And in the third sentence of that first paragraph I would suggest something like "to revise FISA to protect the Fourth Amendment rights of U.S. citizens." (I apologize if it seems like I'm suggesting too much rewriting; I compulsively edit everything I write and it's hard to break the habit.)
