Today's NYTimes had an op ed piece by Patrick Radden Keefe, a fellow at the Century Foundation. Title was Big Brother hasn't won. What I'm thinking is that we don't have just one event, but we have a series, a lecture series, short lectures, say 15 minutes each, that people could listen to at will. This guy might be one of the lecturers and I'm sure we could find more. I don't know what the exact mechanism would be but it could be a free conference call with recording and then put up on the web or we gather the lectures and then put them up. Anyhow, it would support the idea of having an event or events and would be newsworthy. VERY newsworthy.

Who would be a good speaker for the lecture/discussion series at http://get-fisa-right.wetpaint.com/page/2009+lecture+and+discussion+series ?
A couple of initial suggestions: - somebody from EFF - a person from Senator Feingold, Dodd, or Leahy's staff - Century Foundation fellow Patrick Radden Keefe, who just had a NY Times article - Bruce Schneier, who had a recent Wall Street Journal article Thoughts on any of them? Or other suggestions? |
