On our December 13 phone call, Patrick suggest an online discussion in early January with somebody from EFF as an event to help get us back in touch with our MyBO members. Joan built on this in email:

Today's NYTimes had an op ed piece by Patrick Radden Keefe, a fellow at the Century Foundation. Title was Big Brother hasn't won. What I'm thinking is that we don't have just one event, but we have a series, a lecture series, short lectures, say 15 minutes each, that people could listen to at will. This guy might be one of the lecturers and I'm sure we could find more. I don't know what the exact mechanism would be but it could be a free conference call with recording and then put up on the web or we gather the lectures and then put them up. Anyhow, it would support the idea of having an event or events and would be newsworthy. VERY newsworthy.

Indeed! One way this could work is to have the initial conference call and then put up the MP3 and transcript and let the online discussion continue for a while.
